King Insurance Agencies was established in 1989 in Boort Victoria. In 1991 it acquired a life and general insurance agency in Kerang and relocated to Kerang. Business developed quickly and in 1995 a new office was established in Melbourne. At the same time it was recognized that agency business was going to be difficult going forward therefore the business became registered as a General Insurance Broker.

In 1998, the business of Drummond House Insurance Brokers in Melbourne was acquired which immediately increased the business twofold in Melbourne. In 2000 an office was opened in Bendigo which again was strengthened by an acquisition of a Bendigo agency in 2001.

More recently acquisitions of both broking houses and agencies have allowed King Insurance Brokers to be established in Swan Hill makes the organization a significant player in the broker market in North Central Victoria.
